Lace Front Twists

A couple of weeks ago, I met a man named Demarcus working in our building and I mentioned I was taking a comedy class. He suggested I take a look at a comedian who performed as Black Ron. I went searching for Black Ron and I was completely unsuccessful. A couple of days ago, I saw Demarcus again and told him what a difficult time I was having finding this comedian. Demarcus and I went to his office so he could put the search into his computer. He had instant success and I was puzzled. Demarcus wrote down the gentleman’s name. It turns out there is a “q” in Blaq. Armed with the correct spelling, I was able to find Blaq Ron in no time and viewed several of his videos. It was worth the wait because this man is truly talented and hilarious. I would recommend anyone reading this blog to take a look at Blac Ron’s material, it’ll put a smile on your face. While watching his videos I learned a term I was unfamiliar with.. The term was lace front wigs. These are wigs that are created by hair being woven into lace creating a nice hairline over the forehead. I’m a guy that loves trivia and, as a result, I know a little about many topics.  I decided I wanted to know more about these wigs. Since then, I’ve talked to a few women who gave me their opinions about the wigs and I’ve also done a deep Google dive. I found it interesting that lace front wigs are not just a phenomenon for women but they are also available for men.  I wanted to know more about the wigs for men so I kept going deeper down the rabbit hole.   My all time favorite hairstyle for men is twists and I’ve liked it for a number of years. The vast majority of men who sport this hairstyle are black men because, in order groom your hair into twists, you have to have a certain amount of coarseness to your hair. I have white old man fine hair.  I always thought the only way I could have twists was by using copious amounts of Elmer’s Glue.  After a couple of tries, I ruled it out because, no matter how hard I tried, I always ended up with shiny globs of Elmer’s Glue distributed indiscriminately amont the twists. These globs definitely detracted from the overall look. Now that I have discovered lace front wigs for men, it looks like I might finally get my twists. I just need to continue my search for a wig that has the right shade of silver/grey hair.
