Welcome

Before Christmas, I was on restricted duty while at work because of recent surgery. This was kind of a challenge because there aren’t many jobs that don’t require standing and walking. On a Saturday, they put me near one of the main entrances to greet people (kind of like the old Wal-Mart greeters). Since every square foot at my retail gig represents potential revenue, I was placed behind a couple of mannequins and a rack of bargain dresses. In other words, I could not easily be seen. A lady entered the store by herself and I belted out: “Welcome, we’re glad you’re here”. She looked around and, unable to find me, she raised up her hands palms up and said: “Thank you Jesus”. Right after that she spotted me. There was an uncomfortable moment when our eyes met, so I pointed to my name tag and said: “No, my name is Kerry”.
