My primary moniker at my retail gig was the old guy with the bow tie. The reason behind this nickname was an effort on my part to make it easier for customers to be able to distinguish me from the other old white guy I worked with. Although we looked nothing alike we were constantly being confused. I had suggested to our HR Manager that she hold a voluntary class on how to tell old white people apart but she declined. I started wearing a bow tie every day as a way to differentiate between the two of us. It didn’t work, people still got us mixed up but the bow tie has become my swag but I also had a couple other nick names. Some of my younger customers gave me my gangsta nickname K-Dog. I’m also called The Pink Kitty. When I think about it, I’ll answer to just about anything if you say it loud enough.
