Elastic Waist Bands

Ed and I have gone on a number of cruises over the years; however, all but two of these cruises were “gay” which are very different from “straight” cruises in terms of demographics.  Probably the biggest demographic difference is age.  The median age on gay cruises we’ve been on seems to be 40 to 45 while the median age on the couple of straight cruises we’ve been on seems to be 65 to 70.  A few years ago, we went on a cruise which was the site for Ed’s Peace Corps Reunion for about 20 of his fellow volunteers in Malaysia and spouses.  One day I was poolside looking at the throngs of people enjoying the sun.  I spotted a woman sitting sideways on a beach chair chatting with friends. She was wearing trousers with an elastic waistband.  Frankly, we have always worn trousers with belt loops and belts and so do our friends.  Studying this crowd, I surmised that elastic waistbands were a fashion trend we had missed because so many men and women were wearing them.  Ed and I will probably let this trend pass us by because we prefer belts.  Our friend Susan told me the elastic waistband was particularly effective when gassy.  The passenger I was observing must have been gas free because her pants had worked their way down to the bottom of her butt cheeks.  The good news was she was wearing panty hose and they were securely around her waist. The bad news was that the hose were stretched so tightly they were more transparent than usual exposing a lot of very plump flesh.  I found a Philippine employee and suggested he tell the woman about her exposed buttocks.  I don’t know if he ever spoke to her because he was still laughing at the view as I walked away. 1. The stretch belt is the greatest invention since tacos. Elastic waists come in two sizes – two loose or too tight. and either are a killer. Having an “old man’s butt”, a standard belt has no shelf (read “top of ass) to rest upon and over the day you’ll readjust it several times. No such problems with stretch belts and they look good too.

  2. You have just given me one of my future topics about rear ends. I may not have it much longer but I still have a butt. It’s my pride and joy since everything else has gone to hell.
