Today I shared my favorite retail story with a group of young men who were resting in the shoe department. Unfortunately, my manager overheard the end of the story and the words “weed” and “dope” were added to the list of words I’m not supposed to use with customers.
A short note about my manager. She is a lovely woman and I truly enjoy working with her. It’s her job to implement and enforce company policy. However, she also knows I attract a lot of customers who come to hear my unfiltered comments. I have no illusion that I am easy to manage. Fun, but not easy to manage.
